Nick: 當別人跟你聊天,可能一開始說的不對,後來馬上糾正了,你可能會說,這說的纔像話嘛.或者在做一件交易,對吧,對方提供的offer不太符合預期,接着經過談判,對方修改了offer,你說這纔像話嘛.或者用於各種比較.這句話用的地方很多,中文比較難以解釋完全.大家也可以自行補充例子.這纔像樣,這纔像話用美語怎麼說呢?
Nick: David you know what? I got an offer from City bank!
David: Congratulations buddy! It must have been a hard time being interviewed by them. I heard that City bank's interviews are crazy hard.
Nick: Yeah. I mean, I prepared pretty well so I didn't encounter too many hard questions. At the end they told me to wait for their call, which I got yesterday.
David: So they told you this good news on the phone?
Nick: Yeah but then they asked if I was willing to go to another city-oh no, not city but another state for my position. I was like huh huh…
David: Really? That's not convenient for you having to move to a whole new state! Plus, if you don't move and we wanted to hang out, I could just see you in a few minutes!
Nick: Yeah, you are right, I know! So I turned them down, saying I'd like to stay in my city. They discussed a little and called me again saying I could stay. I was that's' more like it! I don't wanna leave you guys here!
David: That's my man.
Nick:剛纔我們說這纔像話,這纔像樣.說我拿了一個offer,他們要我去另一個"省份"-如果翻譯過來,事實上就是在美國就是另一個州.然後我說這恐怕不太行,因爲太遠了.然後最後它們妥協了,可以留在我申請的地方.然後我朋友說,that's my man.這句話就是說,這纔像樣,這纔像話.然後我用了一種表達,叫that's more like it.也是同樣的意思,就是說這纔像樣.你提給我新的offer纔像樣.或者我們可以用另外的一種表達叫Atta boy,就是比較熟的朋友之間,注意下這個使用的語境.或者是my boy, 或者是that's my boy或者是 that's my man或者是my man.很多種表達都是可以的,使用場景類似 this is pretty much it for today's class.
