She was a high-maintenance girl who needed lots of attention that I wasn't able to give her.
她是一個很難伺候的女孩，需要很多關注，我給不了。

不過，high-maintenance也可以用來形容那些很花時間、很燒錢、很費心思的事物。比如說：

Small gardens can be high-maintenance.
小花園也可以很難維護。
