BEIJING -- Natural disasters across China have left at least 1,074 people dead and 270 unaccounted for since the beginning of the year, an official at the Ministry of Civil Affairs said Tuesday.
北京消息，民政部官員週二表示，今年以來，我國各類自然災害共造成全國1074人死亡，270人失蹤。

natural disasters是自然災害；unaccounted for是失蹤。
民政部救災司（disaster relief department）副司長楊曉東介紹，我國自然災害以洪澇（floods）、風雹（heavy winds, hail）和地質災害（geological disasters）爲主，颱風（typhoon）、地震（earthquake）、低溫冷凍（cryogenic freezing）、旱災（drought）、雪災（snow disaster）和森林火災（forest fire）等也均有不同程度發生。
各類災害共造成全國624萬人次緊急轉移安置（relocate），40萬間房屋倒塌（collapsed），225萬間不同程度損壞，直接經濟損失（direct economic losses）2983億元。絕大部分災害（the vast majority of disasters）發生在6月份。
6月以來，自然災害造成833人死亡、233人失蹤（missing），爲2011年以來同期最高值（the largest number of casualties over the same period since 2011）。6月以來，災害造成的直接經濟損失約爲2530億元。安徽、福建、貴州、河北、湖北、江蘇和江西等省份爲受災最嚴重地區（the hardest hit regions）。
中央政府已下撥（allocate）16.71億元中央自然災害生活補助資金，幫助災區（disaster-hit areas）妥善做好受災羣衆緊急轉移安置（emergency relocation, resettlement）、過渡期生活救助、倒損住房恢復重建（reconstruction of damaged houses）等工作，切實保障好受災羣衆基本生活。民政部和國家減災委（China National Commission for Disaster Reduction）已協調派出17個救災應急工作組（emergency teams）趕赴災區指導救災工作（assist relief work）。
