微軟中國昨日晚間通過書面迴應稱，對於該通知中所涉及的Windows 8的相關內容感到非常意外（extremely unexpected）。微軟一直以來始終與中央國家機關政府採購中心（central government procurement）以及其他政府機構緊密合作，積極（proactively）配合政府採購中的產品評估工作（evaluation process），並確保公司提供的產品和服務（products and services）都能達到政府採購的所有要求（meet all government procurement requirements）。一方面，微軟會持續爲政府用戶提供Windows 7；同時，微軟也正與相關政府機構積極配合，進行Windows 8的產品評估工作。
