the standard Chinese dictionary是漢語規範詞典。
國家語言文字工作委員會重點項目《現代漢語規範詞典（Dictionary of Contemporary Standard Chinese）》完成新一輪修訂，推出第3版，其中新增詞條超過100個，“微信（WeChat）”“失聯（lost contact）”“吐槽（may mean complain, mock or comment, depending on the context）”“拍磚”被收入。
一些詞語的新義項、新用法（new meanings or usage）也被增補到新版中來。例如，“土豪”原本是指“舊時地方上的豪強，即農村中剝削農民（exploits peasants）有錢有勢（taking advantage of fortune and power）的惡霸地主（landlord）”，《現代漢語規範詞典》此前僅收錄了這個義項。然而，隨着“土豪”這個詞語網絡新義的流行，第3版在修訂的過程中也補充了新的義項，即“今也指富有錢財而缺少文化和正確價值觀的人（those who are rich but short of culture and correct values）”。
新改版的《現代漢語規範詞典》增補了近400個表內的漢字（characters），這些字主要用於姓氏、人名、地名、科技名詞（technology terms）以及文言教學。收錄單字（separate Chinese words）12000餘個、詞目72000餘條及8萬餘條例證。
