Safety issues have become a major concern for China’s overseas students, according to an annual report released on Monday.

週一公佈的年度報告顯示，安全問題成爲中國留學生主要關心的問題。

全球化智庫（Center for China and Globalization，簡稱CCG)與西南財經大學發展研究院、中國社會科學院社會科學文獻出版社聯合發佈《中國留學發展報告(2017)》（the 2017 Report on the Development of Chinese Students Studying Abroad），報告顯示，2016年外交部中國駐外使領館（embassies and consulates）受理的搶劫（robbery）、故意傷害（intentional injury）和性侵（sexual assault）案件超過10萬起，較前一年的3.68萬起大幅增加（sharp increase）。
報告將安全問題分爲三大類，分別是：人身安全（personal safety）、心理安全（psychological safety）和財產安全（security of property）。
全球化智庫主任王輝耀認爲，留學中介機構、學校等方面應當在留學生出國前爲其進行安全培訓（safety training），留學生在國外期間也應當與父母、監護人、當地相關機構、中國駐當地使領館（local embassy and consulate）、學生會（student unions）等保持密切聯繫（keep in frequent contact），熟知當地法律法規（be familiar with local laws and regulations）。
中國是美、加、英、澳等英語國家（English-speaking countries）最大的留學生生源國（the largest source of international students）。
