BEIJING - The responsibility for guarding China's National flag and firing salute cannons will be transferred to the Chinese People's Liberation Army starting Jan 1, 2018, as authorized by the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

北京消息，黨中央批准，自2018年1月1日起由人民解放軍擔負國旗護衛和禮炮鳴放任務。

【講解】

guard China's national flag是國旗護衛；fire salute cannons是禮炮鳴放；Chinese People's Liberation Army是中國人民解放軍。
2018年1月1日7時36分，天安門廣場（Tian'anmen Square）升國旗儀式（the national flag rising ceremony），首次由人民解放軍儀仗隊（Guard of Honor）和軍樂團（military band）執行（conduct）。
屆時，中央人民廣播電臺（China National Radio）、中央電視臺（China Central Television）、中國國際廣播電臺（China Radio International）以及多家門戶網站（web portals）將進行全程直播（live broadcast）。
此前，這一儀式由武警（armed police）天安門國旗護衛隊執行。
