說起鬱金香，現在全世界都會想到荷蘭，但其實是土耳其的前身（奧斯曼帝國）最早推廣了鬱金香並把它普及到歐洲。

咖啡和櫻桃也是由奧斯曼帝國推廣到歐洲的。

Turkey gifted tulips to the world (you’re welcome, Netherlands). It’s uncertain where the first tulips were grown, but what is known is that the Ottomans popularized the flower and facilitated their introduction to Europe. Other commodities for which Europe owes a debt of gratitude to Turkey are coffee and cherries. About one-quarter of the roses grown in the world come from Turkey. 

土耳其爲世界帶來了鬱金香（荷蘭，不用謝）。目前尚不清楚鬱金香最早是在哪裏種植的，但我們知道，是奧斯曼人推廣了這種花，並將其引入歐洲。歐洲人還應感激土耳其人幫忙引入的商品還有咖啡和櫻桃。世界上大約四分之一的玫瑰來自土耳其。
