第一， 情景對話
A: Ted got a scholarship last term.
泰德上學期得了獎學金。
B: No way this term.
這學期他絕對拿不到了。
A: Why not? He is the top student, isn't he?
爲什麼？他不是尖子生嗎？
B: He always plays truant this term.
他這學期總逃學。
第二， 詞彙拾貝
no way：絕對無法
e.g. He had no way to communicate with his brother.
他沒有辦法與他兄弟聯繫。
e.g. He had no way to redeem his furniture out of pawn.
他無法贖回典當的傢俱。
e.g. There's no way we can complete this project.
我們無法完成這項計劃。
e.g. There was no way to break it gently.
沒有辦法能夠文雅地來捅穿這個問題。
第三， 語彙積累
1. get a scholarship：得到獎學金
e.g. She got a scholarship to Cambridge but dropped out a year later.
她得到了劍橋大學的獎學金，但一年以後就退學了。
e.g. With his excellent grades he'll get a scholarship to Harvard．
他成績優異，能獲得哈佛大學的獎學金。
2. a top student：尖子生
e.g. Our teacher was a top student when he was at university.
我們的老師在讀大學時是尖子生。
e.g. He worked very hard in order to catch up with the top student in our class.
他工作很努力，以便趕上我班最好的同學。
3. play truant：逃學
e.g. The two boys decided to play truant and go fishing.
這兩個男孩決定逃學去釣魚。
e.g. He played truant; but the teacher still went easy with him.
