摩拜單車將向中國用戶退還全部押金

Mobike, one of the world's biggest smart bike-sharing companies, said it would refund all its Chinese users' deposits -- Rmb1billion ($150million), according to an industry insider -- heightening competition with rival ofo.

據一位業內人士透露，全球最大的智能自行車共享公司之一摩拜單車將退還所有中國用戶的押金，押金規模約爲10億元人民幣（合1.5億美元），這標誌着它與對手Ofo的競爭正在加劇。

The refund was aided by Meituan's acquisition earlier this year of Mobike, a deal valued at $3.7billion including debt.

這次退款得益於摩拜今年較早時被美團收購。包括債務在內，此項併購交易的價格達到37億美元左右。

Meituan, the food delivery and online services platform, is the world's fourth most valuable private technology company.

食品外賣和在線服務平臺美團是全球價值第四大的非上市科技公司。

"The move is designed to establish a no-threshold, zero-burden and zero-condition deposit-free standard for the entire bike-sharing industry," Mobike said in a statement.

摩拜在一份聲明中表示：“此舉旨在爲整個共享單車行業建立一個無門檻、零負擔、零條件的免押金標準。”

However, such a standard would pile pressure on smaller players who do not have the large balance sheets to absorb the risks of theft or vandalism to bikes.

不過，這樣的標準將消滅那些規模較小的公司，因爲它們沒有龐大的資產負債表來吸收單車被破壞或盜竊的風險。

"By refunding deposits and going deposit-free we are making it easier to Mobike than ever before," said Hu Weiwei, company founder.

摩拜創始人胡瑋煒表示：“通過退還和免除押金，我們將使摩拜比以往任何時候更容易被人們接受。”

Mobike has 200 million registered users across the world, although the deposit-free scheme will only apply in China, where users have paid up to Rmb299 for their deposits.

摩拜單車目前在全球已經擁有2億註冊用戶，不過這項免押金計劃將只適用於中國。中國用戶向摩拜支付的押金高達299元人民幣。
