Taiwan-born director Ang Lee collected the Oscar for best director Sunday (local time) for "Life of Pi," the epic film adaptation of Canadian novelist Yann Martel's tale of a boy in a lifeboat with a live tiger.

臺灣出生的導演李安憑藉《少年派的奇幻漂流》斬獲奧斯卡最佳導演獎週日(當地時間)，這部史詩電影改編自加拿大小說Yann Martel的一個男孩和一隻活虎在救生艇上的故事。

"Thank you, movie god," said Lee -- who also won best director in 2006 for "Brokeback Mountain" -- as he thanked Martel "for writing this wonderful inspiring book," as well as the cast and crew of the film.

He was the first Asian ever to win an Oscar for directing, in 2006 for the gay cowboy movie "Brokeback Mountain." Seven years later he has done it again with 3D fantasy "Life of Pi."
