chew作動詞,有“回味、體味、玩味某事物，深思某事物，談論某事（常以抱怨的方式），發牢騷，嘮叨，拌嘴”等意思，短語chew the fat是俚語，意思是“閒扯，閒聊”。

A:The teacher was too hard on his students, especially on the boys.
