Robert is twenty-six and works in a middle school. Two and a half years ago he was ill in hospital and there he knew a beautiful nerse called Ann. The girl took care of him and he made friends with her. They loved each other. About six months later they married. Robert likes reading. When he comes home, he always reads some newspapers or books. Ann begins to cook in the kitchen. And when the meat is roasted, she always tells her husband to cut it in two. Then they begin have supper together. After supper they go out for a walk, or they go to the cinema. And they enjoy themselves.

One day Robert planted trees with his students. They climed up a mountain and worked hard. When he got home, he felt hungry. His wife roasted a piece of chicken that evening and told him to cut it. This time he chose a bigger piece of chicken for himself and gave her the smaller one. “I remember, dear,”Ann said with a smile. “When we married, you always gave me the bigger meat. Why do you give me the smaller meat to me now?” Robert felt shy and didn’t know what to say. He thought for a while and said,“You cook better now than before.”

一天,羅伯特種植的樹木和他的學生們。他們爬上了山,很辛苦。當他回到家時,他感到餓了。他的妻子烤一塊雞肉,晚上告訴他切兩片。這次他選擇了雞爲自己更大的一塊給了她一個比較小的。“我記得,親愛的,”安笑着說。“我們結婚的時候,你總是給我更大的肉。你爲什麼給我的小肉呢?“羅伯特感到很害羞,不知道說什麼。他想了一會兒,說,“你做得比以前更好了。”
