這是S和B在談心的時候B說的一句話…B向S抱怨最近都沒和Chuck怎麼交流,而B說這句話的意思就是,他什麼都不告訴我.
我們來看看shut sb out的具體含義.
shut sb out: to not allow a person to share or be part of your thoughts 把某人排除在...外;不把...告訴某人
I wanted to shut John out of my life for ever. 我想永遠不讓約翰走進我的生活.
If you shut me out, how can I help you? 如果你什麼也不告訴我,我怎麼幫你呢?
2.B: Normally I'd chalk it up to just him being him.通常我會覺得這就是他的作風.
Chalk sth up to sth是美式英語,意思就是把某事歸因於---to consider that something is caused by something
We can chalk that win up to a lot of luck. 我們可以把那次勝利歸因於好運十足.
3.B: I've tried all my tricks. He's not interested. 我使盡了我的所有招數,他仍然不敢興趣.
Trick就是"花招,詭計"的意思."try all my tricks"有點機關算盡的感覺^.^
關於trick的另外一個在美劇中常見的表達是"do the trick",意思就是"奏效".

7. "Friend" is a pretty loose term right now. 用"朋友"一詞是不準確的.
Term就是表達,loose有"不精確的;不嚴謹的;不周密的"的意思. 所以loose term的意思大概就是"不準確的表達/說法".
