今天分享一篇關於親情的英文詩歌。這首詩從做父母的角度出發，講述了作者紀伯倫對於孩子的看法。紀·哈·紀伯倫，Kahlil Gibran（1883年1月6日--1931年4月10日）黎巴嫩作家、詩人、畫家，是阿拉伯文學的主要奠基人，20世紀阿拉伯新文學道路的開拓者之一，被稱爲藝術天才、黎巴嫩文壇驕子。其主要作品有《淚與笑》《先知》《沙與沫》等，紀伯倫、魯迅和拉賓德拉納特·泰戈爾一樣是近代東方文學走向世界的先驅。

紀伯倫出身於馬龍派天主教家庭。幼年未受正規學校教育。後隨家庭移居美國。在美國上學時顯露出藝術天賦。後興趣轉向文學，初期用阿拉伯語，後用英語進行寫作。紀伯倫的文學作品受到尼采思想的影響，蘊含了豐富的社會性和東方精神，不以情節爲重，旨在抒發豐富的情感。

卻不要讓他們變得和你一樣
因爲生命不會後退，也不在過去停留

You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

你是弓，兒女是從你那裏射出的箭
弓箭手望着未來之路上的箭靶
他用盡力氣將你拉開，使他的箭射得又快又遠
懷着快樂的心情，在弓箭手的手中彎曲吧
因爲他愛一路飛翔的箭，也愛無比穩定的弓
