So we’ll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart be still as loving,
And the moon be still as bright．

For the sword outwears its sheath,
And the soul wears out the breast,
And the heart must pause to breathe,

Though the night was made for loving,
And the day returns too soon,

我們不能繼續盤桓,
因爲夜已如此深沉；
儘管月光皎潔依舊,
儘管心中的愛意猶未盡京

磨破的劍鞘藏不住利刃,
穿透的胸膛關不住心靈；
心豈能總是如此盪漾,
愛不可一直這般振奮。

縱然夜是爲愛天設的場景,
縱然良宵苦短眼見又是黎明；
我們不能繼續盤桓,
月光下我們難捨難分。

喬治•戈登•拜倫(George Gordon Byron 1788—1824)英國詩人 月光皎潔,夜已深沉,到了分手的時候,可這對戀人兩顆愛意纏綿的心仍舊難捨難分。“利刃磨破劍鞘,心靈穿透胸膛”有何深遠的寓意?緊接其後的兩行在語義上是順承關係還是轉折關係?
