Russian state-backed cyber spies are behind co-ordinated, sophisticated digital attacks in the past two years against sensitive political and military targets, including Nato, the EU and government ministries, according to a security analyst.

The hacker group[ – dubbed ATP28 – is the subject of an analysis released on Wednesday by FireEye, a cyber security company.

網絡安全公司FireEye週三發佈的這份分析報告稱，一個名爲“ATP28”的黑客團體實施了上述攻擊。

The report follows one last year from FireEye subsidiary Mandiant that detailed the activities of a Chinese group dubbed ATP1. Mandiant’s report was followed by the US government announcing criminal charges against a group of Chinese military officers it identified as members of the group.

在去年，FireEye的子公司Mandiant發佈了一份報告，詳述了一個名爲“ATP1”的中國黑客團體的活動。隨後，美國政府宣佈多名中國軍官爲該黑客團體的成員，並對他們發起了刑事指控。

ATP28 is far more sophisticated and covert than China’s hackers in its activities, according to FireEye.

FireEye表示，與中國黑客相比，ATP28團體的活動更爲複雜和隱蔽。

“ATP28’s characteristics – their targeting, malware, language and working hours – have led us to conclude that we are tracking a focused, longstanding espionage effort. Given the available data, we assess that ATP28’s work is sponsored by the Russian government,” the report says.

FireEye報告稱，“ATP28的特徵——他們的目標、惡意軟件、語言和工作時間——都讓我們得出結論，我們追蹤的是一個目的明確、長期存在的間諜團體。鑑於已有數據，我們認爲ATP28的活動得到了俄羅斯政府的支持。”

The Russian foreign ministry did not comment on the report but said: “The Russian government does not support hackers.”
