①amass = collect in large amounts, accumulate。
②being aware = realizing, knowing。
③move house = take your family and belongings from one house to a different one。

⑤gradually acquire = slowly (or over a period) get or gain。
第二段詞彙解析
①thrifty = very careful with money。
②who 引導的定語從句修飾 someone，其中又有 that 引導的定語從句修飾 clothes，這個從句中又有 if 引導的條件狀語從句。
③in every direction = all over the place。

①if successful = if he is successful，所以 successful 作表語。
