1. 時間:>30用to，<30用past，half past，或直接用數字表達，15分鐘用aquarter。介詞用at, 上午用AM，下午用PM。晚上12點多用AM，12：01(twelve oh one AM).

2. 年代: 1987(nineteen eighty-seven), 1900(nineteen hundred), 1650(sixteenfifty), 1650s(sixteen fifties, in the middle of the 17th century), at the turnof the century(世紀之交), 2008 (two thousand and eight, twenty oh eight), decade(十年)，fortnight(two weeks).

3.十幾和幾十的分辨(聽元音的長短，及重音)14, fourteen, 40 forty can, can’t.

4. 電話號碼:按數字讀，一般爲三位，三位數的讀。419-911-9123, 零可以讀zero, oh, naught, 兩個零在末尾讀hundred，三個零可以讀thousand。兩個數字讀double, 三個讀triple. Country code, area code, extension,exchange, operator, incoming call, text message,short message, pager, page.

5. 小數、分數:0.35–zero point three five 6.5-six point five分數：one third, twothirds.

6. 貨幣:pound(pounds), penny(pennies), dollar, cent, euro, yen, yuan,注意符號的寫法￥￡$。5.67-five sixty-seven, 5.6-five sixty.

7. 月份：The fourteenth of July( July 14th ) (July the fourteenth), 1st, 2nd,3rd, 11th , 12th, 13th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 月份可以寫縮寫，9月份要寫成Sept.

8. 字母G、j、v、w、n、m的讀法。
