learn可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時,接名詞、動名詞、(帶疑問詞的)動詞不定式、或由that或疑問詞引導的從句作賓語。當作“教”或“給某人一個教訓”解時,還可接雙賓語,偶爾還可接以形容詞充當補足語的複合賓語。
learn作“聽說,獲悉”解時,是傳達信息的動詞,常可用一般現在時來代替一般過去時。
