在今天的課堂上，我們將要來學習的是含有nod這個名詞，可以表示“agree to something”這個意思的一個Idiom。想必大家都迫不及待地想知道它吧，那咱們還是先來看下面的例句。

Example-1 : She pulled off a great coup in getting the president to give the nod to an interview.

Example-2: I fully give the nod to the arrangement and take delight in it.

在上面的2個例句 中，我們可以看到使用了同一個短語：give the nod to something。在這裏，nod作名詞用，意思是“點頭”。當一個人同意某人的觀點，行爲等等的時候，常常會伴隨有“點頭”這個動作。因此，不難理解“give the nod to something”爲“對……表示同意，贊成……”的意思。

下面，我們來細究這個2個例句。首先，我們來看Example One——She pulled off a great coup in getting the president to give the nod to an interview. 這句話是說：她竟然辦到了讓總統同意接受採訪。

在這句話中，我們要好好把握住一個重量級的短語：pull off a great coup，用之來形容“極大成功”，跟我們漢語中的成語“一鳴驚人”對應。For another example: He pulled out of a great coop in beating the champion. （他擊敗了冠軍而一鳴驚人。）

接下來，我們來看Example Two—— I fully gave the nod to the arrangement and take delight in it. 這句話是說：我完全贊成並樂於接受這一安排。

在這句話中，我們也要好好把握一個黃金短語：take delight in something，其意思爲“樂於……”。For another example: People still take delight in talking about the legendary story.（那個傳奇般的故事至今爲人津津樂道。）

說了這麼多，最後我們還是回到開篇主題，give the nod to something是一個Idiom，表示“同意……，贊成……”的意思。
