On one hand, I think it's terrible that wild animals are brought to captivity for zoos coz the living conditions can be no better than a prison to them. On the other hand, a prosperous zoo in a large city can provide better accommodations for the animals and meanwhile raise public awareness about conservation needs and efforts.
