在我國，艾滋病的流行情況又是怎樣呢?從1985年開始，每年只有幾例感染者，多數是國外來華的人士，或者是我們出國的人士。這樣大概持續了四、五年。到了上世紀八十年代末，出現了第一個流行期：在雲南邊境，中國開始了艾滋病的流行。從九十年代中期開始，出現了快速增長期，其特點就是以很快的速度波及全國。從1994年到現在，將近10年的時間，一直都是在以40%以上的速度增長。
