China Dream and My Dream
“We must forge ahead on the path of China Dream, thus no difficulties or obstacles can impede the course of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation”, President Xi said. By the 2020, people will lead a relatively comfortable life, and by the 2050, China will take the road to modernization on all-round way. China Dream is everybody’s dream, as a saying that goes, “where there is dream, there is future.”
When it comes to my dream, when I was in the primary school, I had a dream. I want to invent a device which could bring you from one place to another in no time at all. When I was in the secondary school, my dream was to study in my ideal university. And when eventually I got into the university, my dream is to graduate. I am going to finish my school study in two years; I promise I will not waste my time making money or surfing the internet. At least in the short term, I will try my best to pass the examination and acquire the basic skills certifications. When I graduate from the school, I will go abroad for my study, the United Kingdom or the United State. And when I come back, I will be a teacher. I teach students and let them know that science and education can rejuvenate the country, also knowledge is wealth.

Nowadays more and more parents are eager to send their children to study abroad before they finish high school by whatever means and at whatever cost.
It is quite understandable for parents to send their children to study overseas because they place high expectations on their children. They are encouraged by the success stories of those who have completed their overseas study. With the development of economy, companies and
institutions at home are giving more and more emphasis on overseas
experiences, too. Consequently, pursuing overseas study became a kind of short cut in gaining a better future. Moreover, there is still one underlying reason for this rush- economic reason. The rapid economic progress in the past few years in China has enabled more and more parents to afford the huge cost for their children’s overseas study.
As for me, overseas study is surely a helpful way to get both advanced knowledge and necessary experiences, but overseas study at an early age is neither necessary nor beneficial. The students may be too young to either tend for themselves or think for themselves. I do think that overseas study can contribute to one’s self-improvement, but it’s better to be pursued after one has finished his college study at home, when he is more capable of learning and living on his own.

Is Thrift Still a Good Virtue?
With the improvement of the living standards, many people are no longer interested in the simple life style and some of them even feel ashamed to be thrifty. What they pursue is the latest fashion. In their eyes, thrift is already out of style.
However, still other people insist that thrift is a good virtue. They say that the strong power of production does’t mean that we are supposed to a live a luxurious life, because our natural resources are limited and some of them even are on the decline. Moreover, they hold that waste may lead to degradation of social atmosphere and environmental pollution as well.
As to me, I prefer the latter opinion. I believe “Waste not, want not.” The truth of this saying is not to give up comfort but to enhance efficiency. In fact, economic growth depends enormously on saving. Besides, there are still millions of Chinese livings under poverty line. We can never afford reckless waste. Therefore, it is no doubt that thrift is still a good virtue that we should not give up.
